We need to regenerate our planet, and cannot go back to ‘business as usual’. As biodiversity diminishes around the globe, habitats and food webs are threatened, resilience within ecosystems is compromised and something like a pathogenic virus is more likely to spread between species, mutate and cause problems.

How come most mainstream media don’t even talk about this relation between Covid-19 and our collapsing global ecology? Like the burning of the Amazon, species extinction, where some insect populations are falling by as much as 95%?
This is because the #massmedia make billions! with sensationalist and superficial news about the EFFECTS of the virus. And never talk about the CAUSE!. News about numbers of infected people that are out of context and reports from people struggling in hospitals makes more money for mainstream media.
PS.Far more people are dying from pollution, hunger, droughts, car accidents, etc
In the US, it feels like you have an unlimited variety of entertainment and media options right at your fingertips.
However as of 2020, 90% of the US media is controlled by only 4 corporations; four people, who own the media industry, determine what “news’ and entertainment you are being fed.
Increasing pressures on nature from wildlife exploitation and our unsustainable food systems increase the likelihood of future pandemics. We do not know where the next new disease will emerge or how many people it will affect, but the risk of a new zoonotic disease – one that transmits from animal to human – emerging in the future is higher than ever. This is the result of years of failed policies and political inaction.
We need to support investigative and independent journalism and create an alignment of interests at all levels of the system, from the regeneration of topsoil and coral reefs, to our economic and political systems and the biosphere itself.
Support our New Normal Foundation to create meaningful change for a regenerative planet.
